April Vacation 2013

With the public holidays being spread so conveniently this year the opportunity had to be seized to take a much need break with my son.

Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal turned out to be the perfect choice.

Having spent some time here nearly 40 years back and still at school the memories of those days were soon refreshed and only a greater pleasure to be able to share the joy of nature with my son.

Hluhluwe is a town centrally placed in the Northern Kwa-Zulu Natal and allows for easy travel to several well known conservation sites.

If you are keen on birding and or nature conservation this is the place to go.

Here are just some of the photos taken visiting the various parks in the area.

Lone Buffalo grazing in a lake - Isimangaliso National Park

Characal at the Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Center

Baby Hippo - St Lucia Estuary

Nyala feeding - False Bay Park

Fish Eagle - St Lucia Estuary

  1. Who would ever imagine that these animals are under constant threat and the numbers are diminishing daily.
